Borrowing Rules
Postgraduate trainers/Examiners/ PGIM academic staff members are
eligible for borrowing membership.
-on the recommendation of SAR/ Exam and AR/ Academic. And/or
-on the recommendation of the respective Board of Study and the
approval of the Director, PGIM.
Circulation Rules
1.A borrowing membership token will be issued to PGIM academics. These tokens may be used to borrow books from the PGIM Library.
2.Books that are not classified as Reference may be borrowed for a period of two weeks by PGIM teachers.
3.Books on loan may be renewed once only, for a further period of one week.
4.Books classified as Overnight Reference will be issued after 4.00 p.m. and must be returned before 9.00 a.m. on the next working day.
o Members who fail to return Overnight Reference items on more than three occasions will lose this borrowing privilege.
o Members of the teaching staff are entitled to borrow such items for a maximum of three days.
5.Overdue fines:
o Rs. 20 (200) per day will be charged for each item overdue, up to 14 days from the due date.
o From the 21st day onwards, Rs. 30(300) per day will be charged.
o Reference books not returned on time will incur a fine of Rs. 25 (250) per day.
6.Damaged or lost items: If a book is damaged or lost, the borrower must either replace it with a new copy or pay the current cost of the book plus 25% as a processing fee, within three months.
7.Members who retain books for more than three months, or who fail to settle overdue fines, will have their membership suspended.
o Membership will be reinstated only with the approval of the Director/PGIM and after all outstanding books are returned and fines are paid in full.
